Chandigarh. IAS Amneet P. Kumar said that there will be no Post-mortem and Funeral of Puran Kumar until the demands are met.
IPS officer Y. Even after five days of Puran Kumar’s death, the post-mortem of the body has not been done. Meanwhile, the action of Chandigarh Police has created a new controversy. Without the permission and consent of the family, Chandigarh Police forcibly removed the body of IPS Puran Kumar from the mortuary of the government hospital in Sector-16 and shifted it to PGI, on which the family has expressed strong displeasure. The wife of the IPS officer, IAS Amneet P. Kumar and the family are adamant on their demands. The main demand of the family is that Haryana DGP Shatrujit Singh Kapoor and SP Rohtak Narendra Bijarnia should be immediately dismissed and named in the FIR against them and they should be arrested.
Amneet P. Kumar has clearly said that until his demands are met, there will be no post-mortem nor will the last rites be performed. This morning, many top officials including Chandigarh DGP Sagar Preet Hooda and SSP Kanwardeep Kaur reached their official residence in Sector-24 to pacify the family, but the family did not give consent for the post-mortem. On the contrary, the family expressed deep anger over the arbitrary decision of the police to shift the body from GMSH (Sector-16) to PGI.
Questions are also being raised on the preparedness of the police. Chandigarh Police had also deployed heavy police force at the cremation ground located in Sector-25, due to which it seemed that the last rites would take place on Saturday only. Many questions are being raised on the ‘hi-tech’ attitude and insensitivity of Chandigarh Police in preparing for the last rites without the permission of the family.
