Hope of relief from inflation, employees will get additional DA in Madhya Pradesh

New Delhi. After increasing the dearness relief of pensioners in Madhya Pradesh by two percent, the government will now increase the dearness allowance of employees by three percent. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav can announce this before Diwali or in the Rajyotsav organized on the foundation day of the state on November 1.

The Government of India has increased the dearness allowance for its employees from 55 to 58 percent from July. Uttar Pradesh government has also implemented it. Other organizations including Madhya Pradesh Officers, Employees and Pensioners United Front are also demanding increase in dearness allowance and relief in the state.

Currently getting 55 percent dearness allowance
All seven lakh regular employees of the state are currently getting dearness allowance at the rate of 55 percent. After the decision of the Government of India to increase it by three percent, the demand for increasing dearness allowance is also being raised in the state. Madhya Pradesh Officers, Employees and Pensioners Joint Front has demanded from the Chief Minister to give a three percent increase in dearness allowance and dearness relief to pensioners from July 2025 before Diwali along with arrears from July to September.

A provincial meeting of all the organizations involved in the Morcha will be called in Bhopal after Diwali, in which the pending demands will be discussed and the future action plan will be prepared.

Provision in the budget as per 64 percent
Finance Department officials say that in the budget for the year 2025-26, provision has been made for dearness allowance and relief at the rate of 64 percent. Presently payment is being made at the rate of 55 percent. Finance department officials say that financial provisions are available.

Since it is a policy matter, the decision will be taken at the level of the Chief Minister only. Only after this, a letter will be sent to the Chhattisgarh government for its consent to increase in dearness relief. It is noteworthy that in the State Reorganization Act, there is a provision for consent between the two states before taking decisions regarding pensioners.
