Tiruvallur: A heart-wrenching incident has come to light from Tiruvallur District of Tamil Nadu. Here a 30 year old man murdered his wife and filled her body in a drum and buried it about 3 kilometers away from home.
The name of the deceased was Priya. A few months ago, she had come to her parents’ house in Pudupalayam and told them that she wanted to separate from her husband Silambarasan, as they used to fight regularly. But the family consoled him and advised him to reconcile for the sake of his children. After this she again returned to her husband.
When Priya could not be contacted after two months, her father Srinivasan started worrying. When he asked his grandchildren, they told that they had not seen their mother for two months. Hearing this, the ground slipped beneath Srinivasan’s feet. He immediately lodged a missing report of his daughter at Arambakkam police station.
When the investigation started, the police became suspicious of Priya’s husband Silambarasan. During interrogation he started changing his views again and again. First he said that Priya had gone to her parents’ house, then he said that she had gone out to work somewhere. The police did not believe his words. When strictly interrogated, Silambarasan broke down and confessed to his crime.
He told that there was a fight between the husband and wife on August 14. Silambarasan suspected that Priya had illicit relations with many people. In anger, he strangled his wife to death. Then to hide the body, it was filled in a drum and seeing the opportunity, he went 3 kilometers away and buried the body.
Superintendent of Police Vivekananda Shukla said that investigation found that there were frequent fights between the two and Silambarasan was constantly suspicious of his wife. Police have recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem and the accused has been sent to judicial custody for 15 days. At present the investigation of the case is going on.
