First flight of indigenous Tejas MK 1A successful, Rajnath Singh said – this is a new benchmark

New Delhi. India’s indigenous fighter aircraft Tejas MK1A took its first flight today. Tejas took off from the Nashik-based aircraft manufacturing division of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. During this, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh was present and described this step as historic.

Actually, this flight of Tejas is an important step towards manufacturing such fighter aircraft in India. On this special occasion, Rajnath Singh inaugurated the third production line of LCA Mk1A.

Rajnath Singh praised HAL
Meanwhile, before this, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh praised Hindustan Aeronautics Limited on Thursday. He said that HAL has set an example in sustainable development with its new ‘Mini Smart Township’ project.0

What did Rajnath Singh say?
Inaugurating this project today, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that HAL’s model is setting a benchmark for other industries. During this, he congratulated the entire HAL family for their efforts to build a sustainable township.

In his address, Rajnath Singh said that the whole world is talking about saving the environment. In this era, HAL has set an example through this township. I believe that HAL’s model will now become a benchmark for other industries.

When will Tejas join the Air Force?
The dates for when Tejas MK1A will be inducted into the Air Force have not been announced yet. However, HAL says that 83 Tejas Mark 1A fighter aircraft will be supplied to the Indian Air Force in the coming four years. It is being told that due to delay in supply of American engine, its construction is being delayed.

It is noteworthy that Nashik-based HAL’s aircraft manufacturing division has the capacity to manufacture eight fighter aircraft every year. Apart from Nashik, Tejas also has two production lines located in Bengaluru. Every year 16 fighter planes are manufactured here.
