New Delhi: Brazilian Vice President Geraldo Alkmin came to India on a three-day trip on Wednesday. During this visit he visited the All India Institute of Ayurveda in New Delhi. He described Ayurveda as a 5,000-year-old treasure of health and knowledge and said that if his visit had not been so short, he would have definitely got his back treated here.
Praising India for Ayurveda, Alkmin said that Ayurveda is a 5 thousand years old treasure of health and knowledge. He also congratulated AIIA for its excellent work and said that this institute is doing good work in promoting health and treating diseases as well as in education and research.
Explaining the importance of Ayurveda across the world, Vice President Alkmin said that the age of people is increasing and the demand for natural preventive health systems like Ayurveda is also increasing. He said that if my visit had not been short, I would have definitely got my back pain treated at AIIA. He thanked the Government of India and the team of AIIA for their warm welcome and expressed his gratitude towards them. The Vice President was accompanied by his wife Maria Lucia Alkmin and 14 senior officials.
