Supreme Court orders CBI investigation in Karur stampede case, former judge Ajay Rastogi will monitor

New Delhi. TVK had filed a petition in the Supreme Court for an independent investigation in the case of stampede during the rally of actor-politician Vijay in Karur, Tamil Nadu. The Supreme Court has given its verdict on this petition and has ordered a CBI investigation into the matter. Let us tell you that TVK had demanded from the Supreme Court that the investigation of the stampede should be done under the supervision of a former Supreme Court judge, because the party says that only the Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed by the Tamil Nadu Police will not build public trust. The party also alleged that the stampede could be part of a pre-planned conspiracy.

Former judge Ajay Rastogi will monitor
On the demand of TVK, the Supreme Court has appointed former judge Ajay Rastogi as the head of the committee monitoring the CBI investigation in the Karur stampede case. FIR against many members of TVK

Police say there was no intelligence lapse in the stampede. Vijay arrived late at the rally, and people were waiting for several hours.

How did the crowd become desperate?
Police officials had asked the organizers to stop Vijay’s special rally bus at least 50 meters before the scheduled spot. But the organizers parked the bus at the designated place only. According to the police, ‘The leaders did not come out of the bus for 10 minutes, due to which the crowd became dissatisfied. People were desperate to see him.

TVK accused of not following the conditions
