New Delhi. On Friday, 210 Maoists, including Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee (DKSZC) member Bhaskar alias Rajmanmandavi, Ranita, Raju Salam, surrendered in Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh. The Maoists who reached the stage to surrender had their guns lowered and had the Constitution book and red roses in their hands. This was a symbol of the journey from violence to peace.
On this occasion, the Maoists were led by Central Committee member and spokesperson of Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee, Rupesh alias Vikalp. This is the biggest surrender so far with a total of 153 weapons in the presence of Director General of Police Arun Gautam, IGP Sundarraj P. and security forces. With this, 4400 square kilometers of Abujhmad, Kanker district and the area up to Maharashtra border has become Maoist free.
210 Maoists surrender in Chhattisgarh
This is the most decisive turning point in the armed movement of Maoism, because with this Maad Division, Gadchiroli Committee, North-East Bastar Division, Company No. 1 and 10, communication, press and doctor team have completely come out of the organization. This is considered to be the beginning of the last chapter of the Maoist movement. Now Maoists are confined to the border areas of Sukma, Bijapur and Dantewada districts in Bastar.
4400 square km area of Abujhmad is Maoist free
As soon as the white cloth cover was removed at the venue, a pile of weapons was revealed. 19 AK-47, 17 SLR (self-loading rifle), 23 INSAS rifles, one INSAS LMG (light machine gun), one UBGL (under barrel grenade launcher), 36 three-nought-three rifles, four carbines, 11 BGL (barrel grenade launcher), 41 nos 12 bore guns and one pistol were seen.
Government will provide financial assistance for three years
Chief Minister said – Financial assistance will be provided for three years. On this occasion, Chief Minister Vishnu Devsai and Home Minister Vijay Sharma gave a message of peace from the Police Coordination Center in Jagdalpur itself. Chief Minister Sai said that this day will be written in golden letters in the history of Chhattisgarh. The stray people have returned with faith in Mahatma Gandhi’s path of non-violence and the rehabilitation policy of the government. We will give them financial assistance for three years and full opportunity for life rehabilitation. This is the result of our rehabilitation and industry policy made under the leadership of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
